Unbelieveble!
Mood:  a-ok
Seeing my book on the shelf at "The Bookshelf" yesterday - wow!  How do you describe seeing one of your bucket list items finally checked off after around 17 years?  If I ever figure out how to say it, I'll blog it.

And we're on the shelves!
Mood:  happy
Or at least we will be this time tomorrow, maybe even this afternoon! The nice peoople at "The Bookshelf" here in Guelph will be displaying my book on their shelves within hours.  I can't begin to express how grateful and excited I am. It took 17 years - but I finally cracked it!

It's happening!!!!

I have the box of books and have begun distribution to bookstores!  In a few days "In Nomine Patris" will be on the shelves of a few local bookstores. Finally after all these years.  I wish my parents could have lived to see it.

If I could get this book published and onto store shelves, anything is possible!

Approved for distribution!

Finally!  I have just approved "In Nomine Patris" for distribution! The online retailers like Amazon and Chapters will be selling it from their sites in 6-8 weeks! I'm ordering copies for local bookstore distribution.

Pretty exciting stuff.

Final Edits, I hope...

So I have just finished what I hope will be the last round of proofreading and editing, and the last proof copy is on it's way.  If this looks good we're on track for world distribution. I'm pretty excited.

Also exciting - in two weeks I'm off to the dig with Haldimand Archaeological Project. A week of digging for evidence of paleo-Indian occupation along the ancient shorline of Lake Erie.  I can't wait!!!

Humbling...

I got my first proof copy today - a couple of changes are needed. It's odd - no matter how many times I look at a page on MS Word, I still miss stuff that becomes glaringly obvious when you have it in your hand. I guess that's what proofs are for!

I have started work on a second book.  All I'm saying right now is that it's an archacheological suspense story set in Nova Scotia. I'm having fun with it already.

Entry 1 - In Nomine Patris
Topic: Finally Published!

So - blog entry # 1 - what to say???

The big news is that I've published In Nomine Patris on Lulu. You can see the storefront page at  http://stores.lulu.com/store.php?fAcctID=2386029 Somebody has been kind enough to download it already so whoever you are, it was my first ever book sale and you really made my day - thank you!

Last week I approached The Bookshelf, a great bookstore in downtown Guelph, and they have agreed to carry In Nomine Patris.  As soon as I have approved the proof copy of the book I'll be ordering a few to take to them for sale.  Then I can fulfill one of my life dreams - to walk into a bookstore and buy my own book.  I know it's silly - I can buy it a lot cheaper myself, but it's just one of those things I have on my "have to do this before I die" list.

Cheers and thanks for reading. Please feel free to click "Post Comment" on the lower right of the page and - well - post a comment.

Jim
